Member Bill McLauglin authored a resolution to support the SAVE America Act. The act passed the US House. However, it is stalled in the US Senate. The resolution calls for all members of the Congressional California delegation to support the SAVE America Act.
Key provisions of the Act update the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. It would require county clerks to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before registering individuals to vote. The Act also requires that photo ID be submitted with mail-in ballots.
The resolution passed unanimously. You can read it here in the Documents area of our website.
Thank you Bill McLaughlin for your tireless efforts to push this resolution through our committee.
